Ajay M LalIt is from here that I learned the basics of earth science, I can confidently say that the knowledge imparted to me by the teachers of Department of Geology, Government college Kottayam has helped me in having an edge over others, as a strong building can be built only over a strong base. This is where I began and this is where I belong. Proud of my department and all beloved teachers for their guidance not only in geology but also in developing my character and inspiring me to step out into a world outside.

MaIt is geology department where I honed my leadership qualities before my military career. The experience I gained during field works helped me to face odds in life with courage and grit. From my beloved teachers I learned the lessons of compassion and caring which enabled me to address the issues of my troops effectively. Without doubt I can say that I owe to my department and teachers boundlessly for what I am today and what I achieved in my life. I am proud to say that I am a geoalumnus

ShobyWhen I am asked to recount my experiences with the Gelology department of Govt. College Nattakom, I have only beautiful memories and exceptional accademic benefits. Choosing Geology for my Graduation has been one of the best decisions ever. I have completed my UG and PG from the college during 1998-2003. The student-teacher relationship was unique there. The teachers are always with us even after passing out from the college. Facilities which we got were impeccable. Good collection of books in the library. With a wide variety of rare rocks and mineral specimens, our museum stands the best.

I couldn’t imagine myself settling down in oil/gas exploration field, without the knowledge and experience I gained from my geology department. We had field trips different places all over India. Those trips are fantastic and make us professional in geological field works and also helped a lot in travel and survive anywhere in the world. In my job, I constantly drawing upon inspiration, knowledge and support                                                                             I acquired from Geology Department, Govt. College Nattakom

HIJASMy Department, the shelter where I learned geology and humanitarian values; the place which made me realize my responsibility to my society in a different way through a different profession. A big salute to geology family, Government college, Kottayam.

The completion of  B.Sc Geology degree course  in this department  was  the best laid stone to my career pathways in Geosciences. As a student I believe an asset that got credited to my skill list is idea of “visualizing Earth” to explore the plethora of scientific facts. Efforts and motivation by my teachers & fellow mates for helping me navigate my ‘compass’  and for all those “funfilled” days are often recollected.  But yes, the most interesting spot is in all sense  our ‘staff room’ (A truth realized after joining the department as Guest faculty).

“Today what I am is what I have gained from the Department. The sincerity of the teaching faculty in shaping me and the patience they had in tolerating us has no words at all. Our teachers always protected us from all distractions and were more like family when it came to putting us on the right track.
